i don't have a problem with the MUSIC expressing something, but really what do they get out of hanging a picture of the president while they play a song they wrote well before his term even started, i'm just sick of all the celebrities trying to convert everybody to think like they do, if it was a political concert then great do what you want, but it's the damn movie awards. no need to bring that stuff into it

These fuckers simply caved into the wrath they knew they'd get from the powers that be. You don't have to actually censor something if people are afraid to do it in the first place.
while I don't see the "need" to have the pic there, I also don't see what the hell the problem is with having it there either....
i just see it as out of context and unneeded, it's a damn movie awards show. it's great if you have your own beliefs and opinons, but theres a time and a place to express them
